Gabrielle has worked in the community environment for several years, as much in animation and intervention, as in the development and coordination of various projects. At La P’tite Maison , she is responsible for the management of human, financial and material resources. She liaises with the Board of Directors and represents La P’tite Maison at the various consultation bodies.

“I feel good at La P’tite Maison because there is a welcoming atmosphere in which respect and mutual aid are evident on a daily basis. I also really appreciate the cultural diversity of the community of St-Pierre. I’ve always been curious to learn more about other cultures, which offer a different perspective on the world. Outside of work, I like camping, movies, cooking and walking with my little dog!“

The community worker is responsible for welcoming and informing citizens in the neighborhood center. She provides the necessary support to carry out the tasks assumed by the volunteers. It supports the interest and participation in the democratic life of La P’tite Maison and in other neighborhood activities, as well as links between residents and with local resources.

“La P’tite Maison allows me to establish contacts with the St-Pierre district. The members as well as the mission allow me to flourish as a speaker. In my spare time, I like being around my family and enjoying every moment with them.“

Martine is responsible for the thrift store, in collaboration with the volunteers of La P’tite Maison . She supports the volunteers in their role at the thrift store: customer service, clothing rotation, arrangement and accounting of the cash register. She accompanies volunteers during the thrift store committee, to enable decision-making on various issues: promotion, cost of clothing, recruitment of volunteers and organization of neighborhood festivals.

“What I like about La P’tite Maison is openness to people, projects and ideas. The participation, enthusiasm and creativity of the members make it a unique place where you feel good. I love reading, nature, crafts and pink! Having a coffee, chatting and laughing, I like that too!“

Anna is responsible for facilitating the daycare periods, planning activities and managing the daycare periods. She participates in the organization of neighborhood festivals and in committees of the Early Childhood Table. It also supports fathers and mothers in their parenting role.

“At La P’tite Maison, I have the privilege of helping children progress and gradually gain their autonomy. And … it’s a blessing! Outside of work, I love to travel with my family and am always passionate about discovering other countries, cultures, and flavors. Cooking, photography and literature are also at the center of my interests.“

Karima Lounes is present at La P’tite Maison to support the work done at the daycare. She assures a presence with the children, for the animation of the daycare periods, the planning of the activities and the creation of new tools of stimulation.

“How quickly time flies at La P’tite Maison! So much you meet people from different cultures and perspectives, I always look forward to coming back the next day. It’s a pleasure to see people smiling and happy. The children’s smile makes me so happy.
In my private life, I love to cook, take care of my little family and especially do activities with my two daughters.“

Émilie is present to support the members of the P’tite Maison. She is responsible for mobilizing immigrant people to increase their participation and involvement in the Saint-Pierre community. She works to implement and animate intercultural activities within the organization. She leads discussion groups and welcome cafes. She sets up and leads workshops to raise awareness and deconstruct prejudices. She organizes one-on-one meetings to learn about the needs and interests of immigrants and then guides them towards community resources.

What I like about La P’tite Maison is the human warmth. It’s amazing how quickly we feel good here and It’s a place where the possibilities of achievement are almost endless. I have the chance to work in a great community!

Genia is a worker for seniors in the Saint-Pierre district. She receives referrals to meet the needs of lonely people, she provides occasional support and collaborates in the Sentinelles en veille project, which aims to break the isolation of seniors.

The role of Sophonie is to accompany, inform, support and give tools to parents. She makes sure that families can make the most of what is available to them in the neighborhood, according to their needs. She leads parent-child activities and offers support during parent committees.
